Evening primrose oil reduces LDL cholesterol
We examined the effects of evening primrose oil, high in gammalinolenic acid, on cholesterol levels in nineteen patients with high cholesterol. This study used a rigorous crossover design where participants received both the evening primrose oil and a placebo safflower oil over 16 weeks.

During the evening primrose oil treatment, we noticed a significant reduction in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels and apolipoprotein B in patients without hypertriglyceridemia. These findings suggest that evening primrose oil can be beneficial for individuals struggling with high cholesterol.

Gamma-linolenic acid reduces cholesterol
We explored how evening primrose oil (EPO) affects cholesterol levels by comparing its effects with safflower oil and olive oil in male rats on high-cholesterol diets.

Our findings revealed that EPO was more effective at lowering cholesterol than safflower oil, particularly in the initial two weeks. Even when the phytosterol content was equalized, EPO continued to show better results.

This suggests that gamma-linolenic acid in EPO has a notable cholesterol-lowering effect, which may be significant for potential applications in dietary management.

Evening primrose oil and HDL effects
We investigated the impact of evening primrose oil on cholesterol levels using New Zealand White rabbits. A noteworthy increase in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol was observed after four weeks of supplementation, which persisted even two weeks after stopping the oil.

However, overall plasma cholesterol and triglycerides remained unchanged. We saw significant alterations in HDL subfractions, with an increase in HDL2b and HDL3c. These results indicate that n-6 fatty acid supplementation could help prevent atherosclerosis in the long run.

Cycle regulation benefits

Cancellation support is adequate; I’m 28. The capsules are large, akin to fish oil. I took them post-contraceptive for four months, and my cycle remains regular (30-35 days). The packaging is top-notch, dark glass, with neutral-tasting capsules that are homogeneous. I recommend this for anyone wanting to regulate their cycle! Stay healthy :)

I started taking this oil on my doctor’s advice for my mother. I appreciate the quality despite a slightly bitter taste. It excellently supports women’s health, hair, and heart health, and notably reduces cholesterol. It’s a very valuable supplement; consulting a doctor before use is wise.

Skin improvement noted

Primrose oil was taken as instructed by the gynaecologist in the second phase of my cycle, at a dosage of 2-3 capsules daily. It was prescribed as part of a regimen to enhance my cholesterol levels. Although I haven't undergone any tests yet, I've observed that my skin has become softer and more hydrated. I did not anticipate such an effect, hence I rate it highly; I truly appreciate the results!
